Engineering and maintenance firm UGL has secured rail freight supply and maintenance orders worth $249m.
UGL has signed a five-year locomotive service and support agreement with Rio Tinto in Australia and will also supply nine GE Evolution locomotives.
The company will also supply six C44ACi locomotives and 227 wagons to an undisclosed rail operator in Australia.
UGL said it also signed a five-year locomotive service and parts agreement with an unnamed iron ore company in Western Australia.
Another contract will involve the supply of 450 locomotive bogie frames to GE to serve the Commonwealth of Independent States market.
