Heathrow Terminal 5 Rail and Tunnels Project

Significant increases in road traffic congestion around Heathrow Airport and into London was a potential barrier to BAA being able to build Terminal 5. To overcome this it was decided to extend the existing Heathrow Express sub-surface rail and Piccadilly Line underground services from other parts of the airport into a new six-platform station under the T5 complex.
