TagMaster Selected as RFID Systems Supplier to Bombardier for their Madrid Metro Projects

14 March 2006

Kista, Sweden, March 14th - TagMaster has received yet another prestigious order for RFID products from Bombardier Transportation. The products will be part of Bombardier’s projects for Lines one and six in the metro of Madrid, Spain.

TagMaster's heavy-duty RFID readers will be mounted onboard the metro trains to deliver accurate positioning information to the CITYFLO450 CBTC-ATC (communication-based automatic train control) system. The RFID system provides the control system with an absolute location of the trains, which is of crucial importance at stations where the rolling stock has to stop at an exact position to align with the station’s platform. The project involves equipping over 110 existing trains with heavy-duty readers and more than 40 locations with the heavy-duty track readers for automatic identification of the passing trains.

"With our good experience of implementing the TagMaster system in our project in Taipei, it was an easy decision to use also the TagMaster system in Madrid. The availability of the track reader was very important since our customer required sleeper mounted readers," says Bombardier Transportation.

"We are very pleased that Bombardier has once again has selected TagMaster as the RFID supplier for their CITYFLO projects. This demonstrates our ability to co-operate with our customers in order to meet their specific needs," says Magnus Rehn, President of TagMaster AB.
