Faiveley Transport Australia Secures Equipment Supply

Faiveley Transport Australia Ltd has secured the order for the supply of brake control, bogie brake and air generation equipment for the third phase of the Outer Suburban Car project. The OSCAR trains, as they are known locally, operate outer suburban train services for NSW state rail authority - RailCorp. Eighteen new four-car train sets will be built by United Group Limited Rail between November 2009 and November 2011, with the first train from this third phase of build due in service in November 2010.
This order continues Faiveley Transport's cooperation with United Group Limited Rail, having provided brake equipment to the two previous phases of this build. The first OSCAR trains have been in service around the Sydney region since 2005.
