Installation work in railway coach construction is often characterized by time spent waiting for the time for embedding to come, for the right moment to arrive when the adhesive has dried and the floorcovering can be walked on and stressed – downtimes of up to 12hrs are quite normal. An innovative new product from Freudenberg Bausysteme KG/Germany, the world’s market leader for rubber floorings, and its long-standing partner when it comes to dry adhesives, the Swiss Siga company, does away with all this waiting around. The nora Goman 751 dry-adhesive system reduces the installation times for nora rubber floorings while maintaining a very high standard of installation quality, ensuring that the floorings can be removed without leaving any residues and that the subfloor is not damaged at all.
In this context, it is immaterial what type of subfloor the floorings are applied to. Exhaustive series of tests have demonstrated that the new dry-adhesive system is suitable for all varieties of subfloor in common use. In contrast to conventional adhesive systems, nora floorings installed with nora Goman 751 can be walked on and stressed immediately. Without any further waiting time, the floorcovering’s joints can be sealed directly after being installed. The reduced work-time involved provides cost advantages of up to 18%.
Since the floorings can be removed without leaving any residues, short installation times are guaranteed for flooring repair jobs in particular: there is no need to prepare the subfloor a second time; subfloors do not have to be replaced even in large-area refurbishment jobs. The coaches are ready again for further use within a minimized time-frame.
These savings in time and money do not entail any impairment of quality, as the first satisfied customers will readily confirm. The elevated-railway operator Die Hamburger Hochbahn AG tested the new dry-adhesive system for a four-year period in two coaches, and also carried out repair work. Their summarized verdict: “The adhesive system has proved its worth under the difficult conditions involved!” A verdict corroborated by the tramway operator Heidelberger Strassen- und Bergbahn AG. The excellent results achieved there in refurbishing a tram coach from Siemens AG have led to placement of a first large order for the new adhesive system by Siemens SKV in Prague. In the double-decker trains for Zürich’s rapid transit network, the noraplan stone rubber flooring will be installed using nora Goman 751.
The innovative adhesive system scores heavily in terms of particularly simple handling. No special tools are needed, nor is there any risk of the adhesive overdrying, or of compression bubbles. And since nora Goman 751 has been precisely tailored to the requirements of nora rubber floorings, system dependability is assured as well.
nora rubber floorcoverings and nora Goman 751 offer a cost-saving, eco-friendly solution featuring environmentally compatible floorings and a dry adhesive containing no solvents: the perfect pair for installation jobs in transport systems.
