Portec Rail's Salient Systems Business Unit Expands Presence in Asia

Salient Systems, part of Portec Rail Products (NASDAQ Global Market PRPX) has announced that it has expanded its presence in Asia with the promotion of Li Rose Cheng to the position of vice-president of business development for Asia.

Richard Jarosinski, president and CEO of Portec, stated, "Salient Systems recently received new customer orders from China and Cheng was instrumental in this successful penetration into this rapidly growing market for our fault detection products. We are excited about the future business opportunities in Asia that she will develop."

In her new position, Cheng will be responsible for all facets of Salient's business in mainland China, Hong Kong and the Pacific Rim. This will include directing sales and marketing activities as well as establishing the operations and service capabilities necessary to deliver systems and services in this region.

Cheng has been with Salient Systems since October 1997 as senior system software engineer. She holds a BSc in chemical engineering from Zhejiang University, an MSc in chemical engineering from the University of Dayton and an MSc in computer science from Franklin University.

A native of mainland China, Cheng will continue to be based in Dublin though she will spend significant time in Asia.
