Increased Demand for Booyco's Functional Cooling Unit

28 October 2010

Booyco Engineering has reported an increased demand for its 24V DC ventilation unit. Developed for use in locomotive cabs, this functional unit provides an alternative to air conditioning systems where there are budgetary and space constraints.

Engineered for simple installation and ease of use, the unit is designed to be flush-mounted on the roof, and swiveled out when in operation. This allows it to be stowed away when not in use and is an advantage given the confined space in most locomotive cabs.

The ventilation unit has three speeds and an air flow capacity, which ranges from 410m³/hr at low speed to at high 550m³/hr at high speed. The unit is compact, features a robust housing and is locally manufactured by Booyco Engineering.
