Rugged, DC/DC Converter Delivers 200W in Railway and Other Harsh Environments

Absopulse Electronics' BAP236R is a rugged DC/DC converter designed for railway and other heavy-duty applications. It utilizes field-proven push-pull topology to deliver 200W at any dc-output voltage from 12V to 120Vdc (12Vdc output at reduced power). BAP236R can be powered from 24Vdc (17–30Vdc range), 36Vdc (25–45Vdc), 72Vdc (50V–90Vdc) or 110Vdc (77V – 137Vdc), with other input voltages available on request. An optional redundancy diode allows for parallel connection to achieve higher output power or N+1 redundancy.
The BAP236R meets railway standards EN50155 and EN50121 and international safety approvals including EN60950. It is filtered to meet EN55022 Class B and EN50121-3-2 conducted and radiated EMI. The unit features full electronic protection and 80% efficiency at full load, depending on input voltage. An optional Form C output fail alarm and remote shutdown are available.
This converter is convection/conduction cooled via a base plate and rated for operation over 0°C to 50°C at full power without de-rating. It is housed in a low-profile 4.43In x 2.25In x 10In chassis and is fully ruggedized and conformal coated ensure immunity to shock, vibration, humidity, moisture, dust and insects.
