150W Rugged, High-density DC/DC Converter Withstands Harsh Operational Environments

Absopulse Electronics’ RWY150 rugged, high-density, conduction-cooled, DC/DC converter provides a complete 150W power solution in a compact 2.3in x 6in x 1.5in enclosure, and weighs 1.8lbs (0.8kg). The RWY150 delivers regulated DC-outputs of 24VDC at 6.25A from 72VDC (45V to 90VDC range) and 110VDC (67VDC to 138VDC) inputs. Customised input and output voltages are also available.
The RWY150 is encapsulated within a thermally conductive MIL-spec. silicon rubber compound which allows for operation within a –40°C to +70°C temperature range and provides resistance against shock, vibration, humidity, moisture, dust and insects. EMI performance exceeds the requirements for EN55022 Class B by a wide margin. These characteristics contribute to making the RWY150 suitable for operation in airborne, military, marine, mining and other heavy-duty applications. The unit also complies with the requirements of EN50155 (IEC571) for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock.
This RWY150 design incorporates the latest FET technology and offers higher efficiency (via optimized switching frequency) and higher power density than previous generations of the RWY series. Current limiting characteristics on the new design are almost rectangular.
