Mobile Safety Thanks to E1 Certification

MEN Mikro Elektronik has achieved an e1 type approval by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. This qualification is based on ISO 9001 (quality management) and is required for the application of electronic assemblies in road traffic.
MEN has already developed a number of products for use in mobile environments according to e1. These include the Ethernet switches and box computers of the MIPIOSВ® family as well as several display computers.
For many vehicle manufacturers, e1 approval is an absolute requirement for the purchase of electronic products. Any equipment used in this field of application must be qualified to special EMC characteristics and must be labeled accordingly.
The e1 guideline rounds off the qualifications of MEN's products for application in extreme and mobile areas. In addition, MEN is certified according to EN 9100 (aerospace) and IRIS (railway) as well as to quality and environmental management standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
