Handheld Named Supercompany for Second Consecutive Year

08 October 2009

The Handheld Group has been named one of this year's supercompanies by the Swedish business magazine Veckans Affärer. This is the second consecutive year that the Handheld Group has received the prestigious award.

Out of 28,000 companies in Sweden with revenue of more than SEK10 million, 434 were selected this year as supercompanies of the year. Veckans Affärer (Business Weekly) selects the supercompanies of the year by looking at the key figures: growth, profit, yield, efficiency, capital structure and financing. It is not enough to satisfy all of the criteria one year: a company must satisfy all requirements for four years in row in order to be considered for supercompany of the year.

The company must also be better than the average of their competitors in the same business. In the words of Veckans Affärer, "It is not enough to be the fastest grower or to be extremely profitable. In order to win the title of Supercompany of the Year, you have to be best – at everything!"

"To be named as a supercompany two years in a row is a great honour. I believe this a strong statement about our company and our ability to manage growth and profitability in a good manner," says Handheld Group CEO/chairman, Jerker Hellström.

Even though the financial climate during 2009 has been very tough and most companies and the market have seen a fairly sharp decline in sales Handheld have managed to grow its business in comparison to 2008. Jerker Hellström has a very positive outlook for the remainder of 2009 and forward: "Our 2009 sales so far have been exceptional in light of the financial downturn. Our product line-up is stronger than ever and we have more new products in development than ever before."
