Each year Deloitte, an international accounting and consulting firm, presents an award to the fastest-growing technology companies in Sweden, the 'Sweden Technology Fast 50'. Deloitte has created the award to acknowledge the success of Swedish technology companies, and to promote and draw attention to the importance of technology as a driving force of the Swedish economy.
Deloitte founded the award in 1995 in California's Silicon Valley, a centre for US technology companies. Since then Deloitte has established the award in numerous countries around the world, and Fast 50 has become an accepted recognition of fast-growing and successful companies.
Deloitte describes the award as following: "Sweden Technology Fast 50 is the only special award for technology companies in Sweden. The ranking includes both public and private companies and covers all types of technology, including internet, computer equipment and media for biotechnology. 2010 marks the eighth consecutive year the award has been presented. All the nominated Swedish companies also participate in the European Fast 500 selection."
"It is very gratifying to receive this award, especially because growth is one of our key focus areas as a company,” said Jerker Hellström, CEO and founder of Handheld. "Awards and recognitions like this are very encouraging to receive since they highlight our accomplishments in an objective way."
Handheld Group has launched four new products during 2010, which will even further increase the company's growth rate.
"The product development pace we have been able to establish is amazing, and we believe we will not only keep up our rapid growth, but actually increase it," Hellström said.
