Handheld Announces the New Nautiz E-Ticket Pro

07 September 2010

The Handheld Group introduced today the all new Nautiz e-Ticket Pro® rugged PDA with an integrated smart card reader. The built in reader complies with the latest e-ticketing requirements in public transport, supporting a broad range of contactless standards, including the entire Mifare® family.

The integrated smart card reader has been developed and designed by Arcontia, a leading supplier of smart card readers for the Public Transportation market. The reader is compliant with ISO 14443 A/B, ISO 18092 and also supports NFC for mobile applications, smart posters and tickets, including both passive reader mode and active peer to peer (P2P) mode.

The Nautiz e-Ticket Pro rugged PDA comes with an 806MHz processor and advanced features such as integrated three mega-pixel camera with autofocus, integrated 2D imager, WLAN, bluetooth, 3G cellular capabilities, and GPS. The operating system is Windows Mobile 6.1 and the product comes with 256MB RAM and 512MB built-in Flash storage.

The Nautiz e-Ticket Pro has three integrated secure access model (SAM) slots which can work in parallel, independently of each other, for extended performance. The rechargeable 4400mAh Li-ion battery provides more than a full day's work on a single charge. The transflective VGA colour display and touch screen provide sharp and clear resolution even while working outdoors.

"Public transportation is an important vertical for Handheld and we have had growing success over the past three years. With the introduction of the Nautiz e-Ticket Pro and its superior reading capabilities we believe that we have the perfect solution for ticket validation. The combination of the state of the art technology that our partner Arcontia delivers and the Nautiz product is truly a match made in heaven," said Jerker Hellström, CEO of Handheld Group.

The Nautiz e-Ticket Pro is the latest addition to a portfolio of Handheld public transportation products including the M3 e-Ticket™ and Nautiz eTicket.

The Nautiz e-Ticket will be on display at InnoTrans in Berlin, Germany from 21 to 24 September and is available immediately.
