On January 16, 2026, at 2:50 PM local time, a locomotive derailed on all wheelsets on the Razvedka – Gorny Lyon section.

There were no injuries. A recovery train has been dispatched to the scene.

The incident does not affect passenger train service.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The diesel locomotive overturned during the derailment.

The preliminary cause of the derailment is compacted snow on the rails. Track workers failed to use a snow plow.
